Its job is the interface between the drive’s low-voltage control and regulation electronics and the high-power switching devices in the inverter section: it generates and conditions the gate-drive signals, supplies the isolated power required by the gate-drive stage, and carries the feedback and protection circuits that prevent a switching fault from escalating into a power-module failure.
