The IOTA vs. the Electronics Module — a Key Distinction
In Honeywell’s Series C architecture, an analog output loop is physically split across two pieces of hardware, and confusing them is the most common sourcing error:
- The IOTA (base) — a passive termination assembly that screws or DIN-mounts in the cabinet and provides the field-wiring terminals, bus connectors, and the mechanical socket. It carries no output electronics. This is what the 8C-TAOXB1 is.
- The electronics module — the active card that converts the C300’s digital output value into a 4–20 mA signal, and which slides onto the IOTA. In the CC- prefix family this is the CC-TAOX11 (51308353-175); in the 8C- prefix family it is the 8C-PAOHA1 (with HART) or 8C-PAON01 (without HART).
