Application Scenarios
A hydraulic press builder ships machines where the ram position must be known to a fraction of a millimetre for the entire stroke, in an environment of 300 bar oil, constant shock and heavy vibration. The existing solution — external limit switches plus a linear potentiometer — wears out, drifts, and forces a re-reference cycle at every startup. Worse, the potentiometer’s wiper is a mechanical wear item inside a sealed cylinder, so replacing it means draining the hydraulics and stripping the cylinder.
Fitting a TR-Electronic linear absolute position sensor into the cylinder changes all of that. The 07425-228-0 class of sensor is built as a pressure-proof tube housing rated to PN 600 bar static, installed directly inside the cylinder with the position magnet on the piston. There is no mechanical contact, so there is nothing to wear. The reading is absolute, so the press knows the ram position at power-up without a homing move. And on separable variants, the electronic head can be withdrawn from the outer tube without depressurising the cylinder — a sensor swap becomes a twenty-minute job instead of a two-day one.
The pain points this addresses run across the whole installed base: mechanical wear in feedback devices, homing cycles that eat cycle time, position loss on power failure, and the disproportionate cost of replacing a sensor buried inside a hydraulic cylinder. The same logic applies wherever the stroke is long — cascadable profile-housing systems reach 20 m of absolute measurement for cutter adjustment on reel cutters and wear-free vertical axes in high-rack warehouses.
