The Yokogawa F3LX02-2N​ is an FL-net (OPCN-2) interface module designed for installation in an I/O slot of the Yokogawa FA-M3 programmable controller platform. It provides an Ethernet-based communication pathway that enables FA-M3 systems to exchange data with other programmable controllers, robot controllers, CNC machines, and compatible FA devices across a vendor-independent open network. Compliant with FL-net (OPCN-2) Version 2.00, the module is purpose-built for distributed factory automation environments where interoperability and deterministic data delivery are essential.

Physically, the Yokogawa F3LX02-2N​ is a compact, slot-mounted module measuring 28.9 mm in width, 100 mm in height, and 83.2 mm in depth, with a mass of approximately 100 g. It supports both 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX operation at 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps respectively, using standard twisted-pair cabling through its RJ45 connector. Up to six modules can be installed in a single FA-M3 main unit, allowing system designers to build multilayer data links without adding external gateway hardware.

Cyclic data is refreshed at regular intervals, making it suitable for real-time I/O and process values, while message transfer handles event-driven information such as alarms, recipes, and configuration data.
