The Dräger 4206432​ is the REGARD Relay Module — the output expansion building block of Dräger’s REGARD gas-detection controller family — formally designated in the Dräger catalog as order number 42 06 432​ (4206081/4206432 depending on packaging and revision). It works in tandem with the Dräger 4206432​ Relay Display Card (42 06 081), which hosts the local alphanumeric display, flexible relay logic, and fault alarm; together they extend the alarm-output capacity of every addressed system input card. The pair is the standard output stage behind REGARD 2400, 3000, 3900, and 7000 controllers, converting internal alarm and fault states into real, hard-wired volt-free contacts that drive horns, beacons, ventilation, shutdown solenoids, and PLC/DCS inputs.

The architecture is deliberately simple: the Relay Display Card communicates with distributed relay modules over RS-485, allowing each card to address up to sixteen modules — and a total of 256 relays per display card​ — with each relay fully configurable as a voting, common, or single alarm. The Dräger 4206432​ modules themselves may be remotely located up to 1 km from the control card, so warning devices can be mounted exactly where personnel need to see and hear them without running long, noise-susceptible analog signal loops. Relay outputs are galvanically isolated changeover contacts, configurable as normally open or normally closed, latching or non-latching, and assignable to Alarm 1, Alarm 2, Alarm 3, or fault conditions on a per-channel, common, or voted basis.
